Labor Day Party

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

ist2_1558027_ballons.jpgA Labor Day Party is a great way to enjoy the end of summer and welcome in the cooler fall weather.  The Labor Day holiday began in 1882 as a way to honor all workers, so why not honor your family and friends with a relaxing day of leisure.

While patriotic decorations tend to be the choice for Labor Day, you could use vibrant summer colors instead, or soften the colors with warmer tones to welcome in the fall. Fresh flowers everywhere will add to the relaxing atmosphere. Fresh fruits and veggies can be sat out for easy finger foods, and used to add color to your table. Pitchers of lemonade and iced tea sat on the table will also add to your colorful décor and offer a refreshing beverage for your guests.   (more…)

23511287.jpgEven though every woman approaches and feels labor differently, the stages of labor remain the same. The first stage of labor, in most cases, is the longest. It’s when you first start having contractions and your cervix begins to dilate.

In the beginning, your contractions will probably be light and about 20 minutes apart. Then as your labor progresses your contractions will begin to be about four to five minutes apart, lasting about one minute each. By now you should be ready to call the doctor and head to the hospital. (more…)
